Launched and operated by the Cumming family at Poplars Farm, Arkendale is a new DIY Livery aimed at all horse lovers who demand top quality and the latest state-of-the-art facilities from their stables.

With a long farming and equestrian pedigree that includes showing and breeding award-winning Arkendale Arabs, the Cumming family is keen to provide some of the best facilities available locally.

Luxury Stabling

Incorporating brand new Imperial stables from Monarch, the stables include everything you would expect from this world-leading designer of high quality equestrian equipment.

Individual stable measure 12 ft by 12ft and are light and spacious, hardwearing and durable.  Easy to maintain and with rubber matting, each stable incorporates tying rings, rug rail and the latest automatic water feeders.

Facilities

  • Secure, lockable storage facilities for tack and food.
  • Year-round, competition-sized outdoor arena and menage with all-weather rubber surface, which is suitable for lunging, warming up or as a stand-alone training facility.
  • Two-horse wash area with special hose booms to ensure easy and accurate cleaning.
  • Horse walker opening in 2018 which will provide a year-round exercise facility for up to six horses at a time.
  • Access to numerous bridleways and off-road hacking across beautiful countryside covering an area from Knaresborough to Boroughbridge.
  • Arkendale benefits from being able to provide year-round quality grazing with automatic water feeders, with the ability for horses to be turned out separately or in groups, along with individual requirements.
  • Secure wagon and trailer parking is included in the livery price.

Location

Located in Arkendale, equidistant from Knaresborough and Boroughbridge, Poplars Farm is a 400-acre former dairy farm which has been in the Cumming family for two generations.

The Cumming family home is located on site along with other farm dwellings, all with views over the grazing fields and access road.

The stables can be easily accessed off the A6055 or A168 and are only 10 minutes by car from the A59/A1 Allerton Park junction or A1/A6055 junction at Boroughbridge.
